The Nervous System- Why Does It Even Matter?

You may be asking yourself why does the nerveous system and being regulated even matter? You may not even know how to regulate or think it sounds hard/ foreign. These are all normal thoughts.

Most of us live our lives in fight or flight and don’t event know it. The body knows how to power up and power through and although we may not feel the consequences immediately. A life lived in over functioning and bossing our bodies around will catch up with us.

Stress can change the brain. It can kill brain cells, damage the gut brain connection, cause inflammation in the brain and body, cause issues with memory, induce brain fog, and it can lead to other mental health issues over time.

Chronic stress can also affect the body and over time if un-dealt with can lead to physical symptoms and chronic illness.

So how can we manage stress and give our brains and bodies the support they need?

There are so many tools we can use to do this, but if our nervous systems are constantly on overdrive we will never properly heal!

REGULATE YOU  is designed to catch you in your week- wherever you are at in your day -to take 20 minutes to regulate your nervous system.

I will guide you through breath prayers, relaxation techniques, body check ins and other tools to help calm the brain and body and bring us back into our parasympathetic.

As you begin to use these tools regularly in your life you will start to heal your nerveous system. It doesn't happen overnight but like drops in bucket over time you WILL feel the change.

When our brain and body are calm and regulated we can…

  • Make clearer decisions

  • Manage stress

  • Be present in our relationship

  • Think creatively/strategically (outside the grind and survival mode)

  • Sleep/ improve our quality of life

  • Experience more peace

I hope that you give Regulate You a try! Even if you haven’t experienced and big T trauma we all are busy and our bodies need support to simple show up the way we need to in life for ourselves and those we love.

Happy Regulating!
